May 27, 2009 award

Dominique Ouattara, President of Children of Africa, received on Wednesday May 27, a distinction from the Ministry of Solidarity and War Victims in cote d'ivoire. She was elevated to Officer of the Order of Merit of solidarity.

This medal comes to salutes her efforts towards the most needy through her foundation. Louis Dakoury-Tabley, head of the cabinet of Solidarity and War Victims who initiated the ceremony, noted in his speech several actions taken by the Foundation since its 11 years of existence ; Actions posed to the benefit of not only disadvantaged children in the areas of health, education and social well-being but also of women by grouping them in NGOs, associations or cooperatives.

For her part, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara has dedicated her award "to all members of the foundation and volunteers who do a great job with her. She also urged Ivorians to solidarity, which must be the motto of all our actions."
