The ‘Sainte Famille’ hospital provides care primarily to people with Buruli ulcer, an infectious disease caused by mycobacteria and characterized by skin lesions that evolve into the most disabling disease.
To date, sixty patients with this disease are receiving treatment and are mostly of modest social status.  The center also houses a nutritional unit for children suffering from malnutrition. This center allows those children to regain a vigorous health through not only healthier eating habits, but also training sessions to mothers in order to prepare balanced meals. The Foundation supports the center by funding a grant, which is renewable yearly, and by providing lots of drugs.
